United Methodist Women (UMW)
Our United Methodist Women of Wellspring (UMWOW) meets regularly for luncheon programs (potlucks), mission and service. See our calendar in Realm for a full schedule of events.
We also have an active book club called “BLT” for Bringing Ladies Together for Bible Led Teaching meeting on the third Thursday of each month. This is an age diverse group studying 3-4 books a year and discussing the application to our lives.
Adult Sunday School
Our Sunday School classes provide an opportunity for deeper study of the Bible and for Christian fellowship. We offer a variety of classes for adults of all ages and stages of life, focusing on applying spiritual truths to everyday living and growing in faith together.
United Methodist Men (UMM)
Wellspring United Methodist Men (UMM) normally meets the first Saturday of each month at 8:00 a.m., unless it is a holiday or an UMM event. All men are invited to come and join anytime! All men are automatically UMM members, and there are no dues.
UMM has a Valentine Brunch for the ladies and usually have over 100 attendees. In 2017; UMM raised over $6000 when we sponsored a pancake Supper for a Salvation Army truck and we also supported the Spring Fling with food. UMM has made donations to Aldersgate Adult home, Brookwood in Georgetown, Wellspring Children Ministry Wellspring Youth Scholarships, Wellspring Youth Ministry, Underbridge Ministry, Landscape Committee, Samaritan Fund, and other ministries.
The major fundraiser is the October Garage sale which is held in Sun City and the entire church provides merchandise for the sale. UMM members started and continue to support Close Friends each Friday which is four hours of fun for Alzheimer’s patients and a respite for their care givers. UMM members are active in all activities of church and community outreach. The monthly meeting gives members an opportunity for fellowship and to discuss important church issues.

A Disciple's Path
The purpose of A Disciple’s Path is for you to decide if membership in Wellspring is what God is calling you to for your growth as a Disciple of Jesus today. Each session will examine one of the five disciplines of Christian Life (prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness) which members affirm in concrete ways you determine. Are you ready to explore specific personal spiritual disciplines for your growth as a Disciple of Jesus?
A Disciple's Path is a six-week class, offered several times during the year at various days and times. Watch the Wellspring e-news and communications for details about a Virtual Disciple’s Path class to begin in September.

A Disciples Path
This class could be called Wellspring 101. It is designed to give life-long Methodists and those new to the tradition a deep look at what it means to be a Methodist and how Wellspring plays out our vows of Prayers, Presence, Gifts, Service, and Witness.
A Disciple’s Heart
A continuation of A Disciple’s Path. This class takes a deeper look at our internal spiritual practices.
Make A Difference
This class is designed for those that want to get their hands dirty and serve but don’t know where to start. If you get MAD about things going on in the world, you will enjoy this class.
The current day Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. The program's approach seriously considers the model of Christ's servanthood and encourages Christ's disciples to act in ways appropriate to being a servant of all. Wellspring participates with the Georgetown 4th Day Emmaus Group and the Lone Star Emmaus Community. These communities are for those who have already been on a Walk to Emmaus and want to continue on that walk growing in relationship with God.
The Walk to Emmaus experience begins with a 72-hour short course in Christian service comprising fifteen talks by lay and clergy on the themes of God's grace, disciplines of Christian discipleship, and what it means to be the church. The course is wrapped in prayer and meditation, special times of worship and daily celebration of Holy Communion.

Sunday Morning Schedule
9:00 (traditional worship) - Kids are welcome in worship and are invited to come to the front for the "Kids Minute." We have a Prayground in the sanctuary, and nursery care is also available.

Prayground
What is a prayground?
A “Prayground” is a space within the sanctuary where children can experience worship through play and age-appropriate worship materials. The space is usually located toward the front of the worship space so that children can see and hear throughout worship. Praygrounds encourage families to worship together, as children remain in worship throughout the entire service.
Why does Wellspring have one?
Children can and do engage in worship! Research shows that worship is formative for even the youngest among us. By providing a space for children to engage in worship in the sanctuary, we communicate to children that they are welcome and fully included in our community of faith.

Toward the front of the Sanctuary, on the piano/nursery side of the room.
How can you support the Prayground?
Welcome families and children in worship. Assure them that “all are welcome, all are accepted, all are loved, and all means all” includes children. Celebrate the noises, distractions, and messes that come along with having children in our midst. Unlike his disciples, who considered children a distraction, Jesus welcomed & blessed the children. (Matthew 19:13-15)
Help us furnish the Prayground (and refurbish our nursery space and kids Sunday School classroom) with materials and supplies needed for meaningful faith formation.

Racial Justice

At Wellspring, we seek to take an active stance in standing with the oppressed, especially those affected by multiple forms of oppression. Here are some resources for anti-racism.

Reconciling Ministry
The Wellspring UMC Church Conference met Sunday, June 4, 2017 immediately following the late service to consider a resolution for Wellspring formally to join the Reconciling Ministries Network and become a Reconciling Congregation. The resolution was approved by 82% of the 153 members present and voting. The Reconciling Ministries Network advocates for the full inclusion of persons who identify as LGBTQ in the life of the church. The resolution also calls for the creation of a revised welcoming statement that will be prominently displayed. The welcoming statement reads as follows:
Wellspring, a United Methodist Community of Faith, is a welcoming congregation where our motto is, “All Are Welcome, All Are Accepted.” And all means all. As a caring, diverse community, we welcome into full fellowship persons of every race, gender, culture, nationality, economic circumstance, age, physical and mental ability, family and marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, and any other category that creates an “us and them” mentality. We affirm that all persons everywhere are children of God.
The Church Conference was led by our District Superintendent, Dr. Clifton Howard. The spirit of the debate was grace-filled and affirmed that everyone (even those who think differently about the resolution itself) are welcomed into the community of faith that is Wellspring.

Zoe Empowers
Orphaned and vulnerable children living in extreme poverty are abused, sick and isolated from their community. Handouts and begging helps them to survive temporarily. Our solution addresses all their challenges, across eight areas of life, equipping them to overcome poverty with their own efforts—and for good.

Our Missionaries
Steve Buchele is a former associate pastor of Wellspring (2008-2009), now serving as a full time global missionary with his wife Suzanne. We were pleased to support their missionary work.
Wellspring is a United Methodist community of faith, which means we are part of the global organization of the United Methodist Church. A portion of our annual budget is used to support this greater connection for service and mission.
Prayer and Pastoral Care
We are aware that there are prayer concerns you would like to share. We have a prayer team that is always ready to lift your prayer concerns each week. Pastor Jeff is always willing to lift any confidential prayer concerns in his own prayer time.
We have created a form that will be submitted directly to Pastor Jeff each week for him to act on. There is a section for you to identify yourself as the person making the submission, a space for prayer concerns and a space for pastoral care concerns.
We also have those who are in need of Pastoral Care in the form of a phone call (and followup calls or emails, as well). Pastor Jeff will be glad to contact anyone identified as needing pastoral care. Some may wish to be contacted by members of our Pastoral Care Team or Congregational Care Ministry Team.
